Margo Wade LaDrew

Founder / CEO

Margo Wade LaDrew has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, consumer promotions, event management and community relations. She began her career as a fashion model and landed a position with Johnson Publishing Company, (Ebony/Jet) where she was a print model and began a career in the health & beauty industry. During her time at JPC, she worked her way up the ranks to Sales Director for the Supreme Hair Care division reporting and working directly with the CEO & Publisher, Mr. John H. Johnson. Relocating to California in 1994, she launched her own company, Wade & Associates Group, representing major companies in the ethnic hare care market such as Dark & Lovely, Johnson Products, Worlds of Curls, Smooth n Shine, SoftSheen- Carson and Bronner Brothers product brands.

Expanding in 1998 to Event Management, Community Relations and Marketing, she secured a contract with the NAACP where she served as the National Event & Fundraising Director of the nationally televised NAACP Image Awards and produced all ofthe related special events. Other entertainment clients included the Essence TV Awards, The Black Movie Awards and de Passe Entertainment. Margo assisted with both the launch and development of the Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program in 2007 and served as the National Events & Program Director which gained national recognition and successfully screened over 30,000 African American Men in 26 cities. Her company also produced The African American Men’s Health & Empowerment Summits and coordinated the entire Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program’s National Tour each year since it’s inception until resigning in 2011. Realizing that women make 85% of all household decisions and using women’s interest in Beauty, Ms. LaDrew founded the BeautyShopHealth Initiative in 2014 and serves as the Executive Director. She is also currently a Consultant for Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital and helped to launched their “Know Your Basics” and “Man-Up” for your Health Programs. Margo has served on the National Board for the National Council of Negro Women, and the Transitions Optical’s Cultural Diversity Advisory Board. She has been a part of several health research published.She is currently working on the “Beauty N Black Magazine” - A Beauty. Fitness & Wellness Magazine that will be distributed to Beauty Shops, Barbershops and Wellness facilities nationally in the Spring of 2021.
